Image of Blackfly S with High Sensitivity STARVIS sensor New FLIR Blackfly S models featuring high-sensitivity, high-resolution Sony STARVIS sensors are now available. The STARVIS sensors deliver clear images in low light, while supporting compact and inexpensive optics. Now available with 6.3 MP IMX178 and 12 MP IMX226 sensors. The BFS-U3-63S4 features Sony’s IMX178 sensor. This 6.3 MP, 1/1.8" rolling shutter CMOS device is built using Sony’s Exmor R technology. This technology increases pixel sensitivity and greatly improves picture quality in low light conditions. The IMX178’s high sensitivity earns it Sony’s STARVIS designation. The BFS-U3-120S4M/C-C features Sony’s IMX226 sensor. This 12MP, 1/1.7" rolling shutter CMOS device is built using Sony’s Starvis technology. Starvis is a backside-illuminated (BSI) pixel technology that greatly increases pixel sensitivity and improves picture quality in the visible light and near IR wavelengths, giving it class-leading low light performance. Both cameras are available in the FLIR Machine Vision web store.
