The Advantech PCI Express GigE Vision Frame Grabber, PCIE-1672E, is a PCIe x 4 bus network interface card (NIC) with 2 Ethernet ports supporting GigE (Gigabit Ethernet) IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE802.3ab, IEEE802.3x, IEEE802.3af communication. Both ports support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), with 48 VDC output to 18 watts when 12 VDC supply power is drawn from the PCIe bus, or 30 watts when supply power is drawn from 12 VDC AT/ATX computer power supply. PoE allows power to be supplied to connected devices, such as PoE-based GigE cameras in machine vision inspection systems, without the need to use separate PoE injectors for those applications. The PCIE-1672E is ideally designed for scientific research instrumentations, medical research instrumentations, and machine vision systems, which can also benefit from a scalable Gigabit backbone construction with Power-over-Ethernet support.
