POSTED 04/04/2023

National Robotics Weekruns from April 8 - 16, 2023 and theInOrbit Robot Spaceis excited to invite members of the public to a series of events, meetups, and educational talks during this time to demystify how modern robots are working with society to build a better world. Bay Area residents are encouraged to explore these all-ages hands on robot activities with us at the InOrbit Robot Space, 293 Castro St, Mountain View, California.

For those who may be unfamiliar, the mission of National Robotics Week (RoboWeek) is to inspire students in robotics and STEM-related fields and to share the excitement of robotics with audiences of all ages. This is a mission we support as well, and InOrbit is excited for this opportunity to contribute at thenewly openedRobot Space.

The InOrbit Robot Space may have only been open for a short while, but we’re already seeing a great response fromthe community. Our partners likeWomen in Roboticshave beenhosting eventsin the space and for this years’ National Robotics Week, we’re pulling out all the stops. Join us all week long for in-store activities, like our plan aTurtleBotmission, desktop 3D printing, meet RoboGames competitors, and while tickets last you can sign u p to join us for a ‘GenAI’ talk hosted by the Berkeley Haas Alumni Network. All of our events are free and drop-in except the GenAI talk.

We hope you join us for a chance to discover the cool new robots and toys on our store shelves, pick up an Orbito activity book, and learn about robots in the real world. , For a complete list of National Robotics Week events at the InOrbit Robot Space please visithttps://www.inorbit.ai/robotspace/community

Here’s a bit more detail on a few of the epic events coming soon to the InOrbit Robot Space.

Supertech FT presents: Teaching AI Robotics to 90% of US Population (drop-in) - Wed., April 12, 6 PM - 7 PM Speaker: Albert Hu, PhD is the Executive Director of San Francisco AI Robotics Youth Program.Join us for this in-person discussion exploring the way we teach and talk about robotics. Today's robots have computer vision and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled capabilities, and they can exhibit seemingly magical intelligent behavior that may create fear and uncertainty in the public. Our discussion will explore how to teach and talk about robotics to the 90% of the US population who have completed their high school education, in an intuitive and easy-to-understand manner. Dr. Hu, who is also the Chairperson of Supertech FT, and a member of the European Information Technology Certification Institute, Smart Energy Standards Group.www.eitci.orgwill share his experience and insights.www.supertechft.org
